Pacman2000 version 1.0 extremely Alpha Version By
Simon Churchill
I wasn't Going to release this game for a long time because I dont have
time to finish any of it at the moment , I am on my industrial placemnent
year of my computer science degree course , and I didn't want to release it
unfinished, but I dont know when I will have the time, so I would like to
release this version as a sort of DEMO, and hope people out there will give
me some feed back to whether they think it is crap or not, or whether they
would like me to finish it. The game probably has a good few bugs in it ,
but nothing too serious (ie. it wont blow your computer up or anything) but
there are some non the less. here are some things to note:
-The game has only seven levels (at the moment,I was planing about 40++)
-The redefine keys screen is black but the program will still accept
your new choices, (ie. if you press 4 to redefine keys the screen will
go black, at this point you should press the keys you want for "UP DOWN
LEFT RIGHT" in that order. The game should work with those keys,
alternativly use a joystick in port 2., this will be done properly in the
final version
-press F10 to toggle gfx to and from normal and enhanced modes
-the ghost can kill you, and you can kill then by eating a corner power pill
,at the moment they just look like normal pills but you should be able to
tell when you have had one as the ghosts slow down and go grey.
,this will be done properly in the final version
- the grey ghost graphics are temporary
- the ghost can kill you if they are eyes and th power pill has ran
out, this will be done properly in the final version
- In the final version ,death sequenxce and games over sequences will be used
- a hi score table and screen are nearly finished, to be added soon
-bonus objects etc. will be added in the final version
-sound effects also will be added in the final version,
-the menu screen will be easier to navigate in the final version
- (advanced users only) if the VBR is disabed or at 0x0 the mouse button quits
from the game (this is just a debugging function in case of a mild crash)
again I would like to stress that this game is nowhere near finished and
will have lots of things looking stange and incomplete that I haven't mentioned
,but I would be very greatful for any feedback from anyone, I they enjoy what
they see so far and if it is worth me finishing it. ( I want to finish it eventually,
everyone loved the original, did'nt they).
If i get enough email requests to finish it I will finish it and also
write a PC version, and all who mailed will recieve both full registered
versions.
the game is intened to be installed from floppy, to install it from HD
go to a cli/shell and assign PACMAN2000: to the source directory
and click on the install icon, alternatively
just copy all the files to a floppy rename it PACMAN2000
and from a dos cli/shell type "install DF0:"
Any way hope you enjoy this much,, Si......
